You get to pick the color (Red Pearl or Blue Steel) AND you'll be able to pick it up at the Polaris dealership of your choosing.

This free drawing is conducted by the American Cancer Society, Inc. (ACS) and is governed by all applicable federal, state, and local laws.

 

Funds raised will benefit the mission of the American Cancer Society, a 501(c) 3 organization. The financial statements of the American Cancer Society, Inc. may be found on www.cancer.org.

 

The winner will be selected randomly by drawing during the 2020 Minnesota Made Extravaganza virtually at www.acsmnmade.org  on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at approximately 9 p.m.

 

Each entrant represents that they meet all of the stated eligibility requirements and agrees to be bound by these official rules.

 

To enter:

Suggested donation for each tickets is $100. There is no required cost to enter.  Donations may be made by credit or debit card, or check. Checks should be made out to the American Cancer Society.  All entrant information should be completed upon request for ticket.  Limit 1 ticket per person.

 

Tickets are available from ACS staff and volunteers during the period of September 1 to November 12, 2020.

 

Each entry has a separate and equal chance to win.

 

To obtain a drawing ticket without making a contribution, contact abby.schnorr@cancer.org.Your request must include your name, address, and phone number; and be received by 5:00 p.m. on November 12, 2020.

 

Prize:

Polaris, Inc, has generously donated the following prize:

  • 2020 Slingshot SL (valued at $26,499.00)

 

There is no alternative cash prize option. Prizes may not be substituted or transferred until after award.

 

Taxes and other fees:

Winner will be responsible for applicable local, state, and federal sales and withholding taxes, fees, and all expenses associated with ownership.

 

Prior to award of prize, winner should complete an IRS Form W-9 and other related documents, provide picture identification, or pay ACS all applicable withholdings with guaranteed funds (e.g., cashier’s check, money order, etc.).

 

If the winner does not provide their IRS Form W-9 or taxpayer ID number, the federal backup withholding tax on a noncash prize with a fair market value of $26,499.00 is $8,368.38  (31.58%) and will be added to the gross value of the prize for annual reporting to the IRS. 

The winner will receive a Form MISC-1099, postmarked by January 31, 2021, to complete their annual tax returns.

 

Entrants should check with their tax advisor regarding tax components of donations or taxes associated with drawing winnings.

Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to participate in the drawing or win a prize.

 

Society staff and volunteers involved in the drawing and their immediate family members may not participate. Society staff is defined as anyone employed in any capacity by ACS or the ACS Cancer Action Network. Volunteers involved in the drawing are defined as ACS event chairs and committee members; volunteers not involved in drawing operations - who issue tickets - may participate.Additionally, associates and immediate family of Polaris, Inc. and its affiliates may not participate.

 

Immediate family members of staff, volunteers, and associates and affiliates of Polaris, Inc. include spouse, domestic partner, mother, father, siblings, children, grandchildren, and grandparents.

 

Void where prohibited by law.

 

Selecting the winner:

A representative of ACS will draw the winning ticket randomly from a receptacle.

 

The winner does not need to be present to win. If the winner is not present, they will be contacted using the contact information on the winning ticket.

 

Prize acceptance:

A prize is accepted when a winner signs the IRS Form W-9 and other appropriate forms, provides identification, and remits withholding taxes.

 

If a prize winner does not accept the prize within 30-days, the prize will be forfeited, and awarded to the back-up winner who will be drawn in the same manner as the winner.

 

Upon acceptance of the prize, winner will be responsible for working directly with the vendor, Polaris, Inc., to arrange any prize customization and devliery.

 

If a winner declines the prize, they must sign a Prize Disclaimer form.

 

Additional information:

Prizes are offered as is, with no written or express warranty.

 

Winners may be required to sign a release form agreeing to hold harmless the American Cancer Society, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, sponsors, partners, agents and assigns from attorneys’ fees, as a result of participation contest and/or the prize.
